This is one of my favourite pictures. I love minimalism - when there's no action to be had, any scene is just physical substance illuminated by light, and I find the subtlety of the gradations here simply thrilling. Because there's no action beyond the interaction of the light and the surfaces, the scent has a timelessness that carries a sense of calm: although there's always the implied possibility of the door being opened and everything changing!
